Obama Inauguaral Speech

In his speech, how does Barrack Obama persuade people to believe in him and follow him?

In Barrack Obama's Inaugural Speech, he addresses the fear in our country as well as indicators of failure. He mentions the indicators of failure as being home and job losses, high health care costs, failures of education and poor use of energy resources. He begins his speech with these indicators to measure failure, and makes it clear how America has fallen into hard times. Clearly, Barrack Obama wants his inaugural audience and America's nation to know that there is a clear and rough path that America needs to cross and overcome to have the country aspire economically and prosperously. In the beginning of his speech, Obama addresses that America choses "hope over fear", and is the clear line that influences his audience to believe and follow in him.
